In February 2025, the City of Vis submitted an application to the Public Call for Submitting Applications for the Award of Non-refundable Funds Based on the Program for Co-financing Development Projects in Tourism in the Split-Dalmatia County Area in 2025 for the project Organization and Adaptation of the Museum Storage and Lapidarium of Municipal Heritage Museum of Vis. The decision on the distribution of funds from the Split-Dalmatia County Budget was made on May 28, 2025, and the Project Co-financing Agreement was signed on June 18, 2025.
Through the implementation of the project, the storage facility of Municipal Heritage Museum of Vis has been organized, ensuring space for the storage, protection, cataloging, and display of museum objects. The space is equipped with a security system, an extensive museum library, offices with computers, and storage shelves. Visitors can tour the interior of the space, use the library and reading room, and in the lapidarium they can view large stone and metal objects, such as oil mills and grape presses, with emphasis on Vis viticulture and olive growing.
