The lecture was part of the City Day celebrations and also marked the upcoming 160th anniversary of the Battle of Vis, which will take place next year. Dr. Branko Belamari\u0107 is a graduate naval architect who has been actively researching the Battle of Vis for many years. He is also the author of the book <em>The Battle of Vis in the Light of Naval Armament<\/em>, published in 2021 by Knji\u017eevni krug Split and the Croatian Maritime Museum in Split. In the presented book, the author for the first time analyzes the armed aspect of the last great battle of sailing ships, describing the development of the ship&#8217;s ram, cannon, cannonball, ship armor, and naval shipbuilding, ship propulsion, and underwater protection.
